In addition I have just learned CDOC has updated AR 700-19 Sex Offender Treatment and Management Program, which becomes effective today. The AR is available on the CDOC website under Policies and Regulations or I can email a copy of it to you upon request.

As most anyone knows who has a loved one incarcerated in CDOC sentenced under the 1998 Lifetime Supervision Act, the loved one must be in treatment, ie Phase I, Phase II etc and must meet the SOMB and CDOC established criteria for parole recommendation. One of the criteria is the offender must have a support person, approved by the SOTMP Support Education Coordinator and must attend the Support Education Program Meeting.

Getting information about the guidelines/requirements to be a support person has been a nearly impossible task. I was ablt  to obtain a copy of the SOTMP Support Education Program booklet, which provides information about what a support person is and does for the offender. Still though it does not go into much detail as to the guidelines/requirements to be a support person.
